The Saints Row 2 Story

The Saints Row 2 story picks up from where Saints Row ended. At the end of Saints Row, the Yacht on which the protagonist was on exploded due to him being betrayed by his Saints crew and the game ended there. It suggested that the protagonist had ended then and there, however, where Saints Row 2 starts from, this apparently is not the case.

The protagonist, ie the player, is shown five years after that fateful day of the boat explosion, and it is revealed that he survived the explosion, and ended up in a Prison hospital, in a comatose state due to trauma caused by the event. So, the protagonist has been in comatose for five years essentially, and had no control over what happened to the Saints over all this time.

Prison Island in StilwaterPrison Island, Stilwater At the start of Saints Row 2, the player wakes up from the Comatose, and finds himself in the prison hospital, with his/her appearance changed due to the accident he had been in, he is determined to escape the prison and get back to his 3rd Street Saints life, so he breaks out of the prison with a fellow Hispanic prisoner who recognizes the protagonist from his days.

The prison is shown to be on the prison island, and the escape from it thus happens to be in a Speedboat. The protagonist then reaches Stilwater, which was the city he once used to rule over. The city is shown to be in a completely different state than from what it used to be five years back. It is now ruled over by gangs that were not heard of in Saints Row, Ultor Corporation, which is a corrupt company, has taken over most of Stilwater and has control of the Police Department, Factions that used to be rivals of the 3rd Street Saints and were rather deprived of glory in the days the protagonist used to be in Stilwater, are now running the rackets. Ultor also has tie-ups and partnerships with the three main Gangs of present-day Stilwater, thus making it extremely difficult for the 3rd Street Saints to rise again from the ashes.

The protagonist then seeks the help of a Plastic Surgeon to repair his unrecognizable face, and this is where the character appearance is completely customized. Afterwards, the player finds out about his friends, and comes to know that Johnny Gat, one of them, has been arrested by the police and is awaiting his death on the Death Row, Julius Little, the former leader of the 3rd Street Saints, has left the gang-life and is now living peacefully away from all the guns and bullets.

Knowing that he cannot let this happen, the protagonist plots and executes a plan to save Johnny from certain death, and manages to help Johnny escape from the court room, they then embrace each other. In the meanwhile, The hispanic prison-mate who helps the player escape from prison island, gets together his friends and lets them know about the Protagonist’s escape from the prison, they all then meet up, and pledge to revive the 3rd Street Saints and restore its former glory.

Here is where the journey actually starts, it is the protagonist, his friend Johnny, and a few motivated young Hispanic Men, looking to take on the Mega Corrupted Corporation Ultor, and the huge gangs, with only one motivation, and that being to establish Saints, once again, as the top Gang of Stilwater.

Here is a Video that shows the starting story (you can customize the protagonist any way you like btw)

It seems pretty exciting, deep and yet very thrilling of a backdrop to the game. This is official by the way, as told to the press by Volition. Can’t wait to play the game! Make sure you share your views through the comments area.

yeah i think the driving should be more like the driving controls of GTA 4 seem more natural than the controls of Saints Row 1

i think that the shooting in gta games are not as good because they only let you fire sides and only forewards when in Saints Row you can shoot straight ahead in anything
