It was a question in most gamers’ minds when they saw the first trailers. What is it that forced the Saints to go out of business in Stilwater? It was seen in the game that the protagonist, even when he was sent to a comatose by the boat-blow-up, the gang was in a pretty strong position even back then. So what was the reason that caused the fall of the Saints?

According to the storyline as mentioned in Saints Row 2, this had happened due to the conflicting interests of the leaders of different Saints’ rackets upon the protagonist’s absence. It was the protagonist who held the gang together and was the major authority figure, out of fear of whom the heads of conflict never arose beyond controlled levels, however, once the protagonist was gone, all hell broke lose, and the Saints fell apart.

It is now known that the Ultor Corporation along with the Brotherhood and other rival gangs have taken over most of Stilwater, with little left to scourge for, for the other gangs and hoods. It is all up to the protagonist to step up and get the Saints back to their deserved place.

A damn good story trailer released by THQ about how Saints Row 2 starts off for the protagonist, as he wakes up from his 5 year coma induced state to find out the current state of the 3rd Street Saints, and vows to bring them back to their former glory. To read more about the story go here: Click

There was no better way to have shown the story, in my opinion, and the depth of the background Story in Saints Row 2 totally blows GTA IV’s thin background story out of the water. Excellent job!

Here is another video from Uncle Gary, ie Gary Busey. It highlights how the player can play as the Police and abuse the citizens in the disguise of a police officer. Another fun feature in the world of Saints Row 2! This video is a must watch as well.

Some people have been complaining and moaning as of late about how Saints Row 2’s graphics are not as great as they’d expect them to be (that is, better than GTA4). Which is also somewhat true as shown in some of the Saints Row 2 trailers, although in some aspects of combat action etc. SR2 is miles ahead of GTA, and of course Gameplay is much superior, the graphics, in some trailers appear to be the same as GTA4 and not better.

The general expectation in the market from Volition and THQ is to deliver a game that has better graphics than GTA4, the current graphics meet the standards set by GTA4, which means they are almost the same, but, as I said earlier, the current demand is for graphics that are better than GTA4.

Now, the only reason why the release of Saints Row 2 was delayed from August to October was to satisfy this particular demand. To satisfy its customers and users, Volition wanted to take the graphics one step ahead of GTA. Therefore the delay. This information has been channeled to Saints-Row-2.com by my friend who works at Volition, he has also told me that the Graphics are going to surprise and stun everybody when the game is finally out.

So just hang in there folks, once Saints Row 2 comes out, you’re going to get the real deal.
